Fairy Tale Chronicles Updates

The Definitive Anniversary Editions are coming along nicely. Book 1, The Most Wonderful Fairy Tale, is complete, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I'm currently working on book 2, A Beautiful Melody, and I'm excited with what it's becoming. If you were a fan of the original versions, you will love these new, revised versions. They really are the versions of these books that have needed to exist this whole time. Things that are being updated in these versions:

1) All unfortunately dated descriptions and materials that were woefully offensive or controversial have been removed. Forgive me, I was young and dumb when I first wrote these books! I was shocked at how poorly these had aged upon going back.

2) The books are being modernized! The first book was written at a time when smart phones and advanced tech weren't really a thing and the world was a lot different. The books are being pulled into a more modern setting (which is tricky in and of itself) but it will feel more familiar to modern audiences.

3) Character arcs and story beats are strengthened. The themes are clearer, characters are more fully developed, and some plot decisions just make more sense. Entire chapters have switched (or removed) POVs, so that alone will make certain events feel fresh or stronger depending on who we are following.

4) The prose is stronger. Whether a lack of description or vague (sometimes offensively stereotypical) descriptions, these have all been tightened, cut, or in some cases expanded. While the first book, at least, is a bit shorter in word count, you shouldn't notice anything missing. In fact, you will hopefully find the words richer and more immersive than before.

The books are scheduled to release in January 2027, a full 15 years after the ebook release of the first book, and nearly 20 years since I first began writing it.
